Price Match Policy

1. Objectives / Background

Through our Price Match Policy, YouHome Automation Pty Ltd T/A Security Cameras Australia is committed to providing the lowest prices on our extensive range of products. This policy outlines how our store matches prices with competitors to provide you with the best value.

Should you find an identical stocked item for a lower price from a competitor, we will happily match the price, subject to the following terms and conditions.

2. Nature of Competitor

We will price match the identical lower-priced item, provided that the competitor:

  1. Is a registered Australian business, as it:
    1. has an Australian Business Number; and
    2. has been registered for Goods and Services Tax (“GST”)
  2. Is not an unauthorised distributor that resells products that are ‘grey imports’. These are products acquired from internationally based distributors other than the manufacturer's locally licensed importer (i.e. Kogan, Dick Smith).

3. Product Specifications and Availability

The lower-priced product from the competitor must:

  1. be of the exact same model and description; and
  2. be available for immediate purchase; and
  3. be in stock at the competitor’s store, or on their website; and
  4. include relevant GST and delivery charges in its price; and
  5. be available for retail quantities only and not bulk buy or commercial quantities; and
  6. be free from any special promotions, clearance sales, or limited-time offers that are not generally available to all customers

4. Product Exclusions

Even if the lower-priced identically stocked item matches the conditions above, we will not price match on:

  1. Sale, clearance, refurbished, display stock items or items sold as part of a bundle offer
  2. Items that are part of a liquidation sale or limited stock offer
  3. Items offered by trade buyers, wholesalers, importers, warehouses, auctions and auction sites, duty-free, liquidation sales, including where a lower-priced item is the result of a:
    1. pricing error, mistake or misprint by the competitor
    2. cashback offer or voucher
  4. Items that fall below our cost price
  5. Specific items or brands offered by us, which include but are not limited to: Gift Cards, Cashback or Coupon Offers, Commercial Quantities or Pricing, Stock Liquidations, Paid Membership based Pricing, Third Party Marketplace Purchases.
  6. Items where the competitor's lower price is available only through business-to-business channels, trade accounts, or requires proof of commercial registration or ABN
  7. Items where the competitor's lower price includes bundled services, installation, delivery, or extended warranty components that are not separately itemised or cannot be excluded from the advertised price
  8. Items where the competitor's lower price results from membership-based discounts, employee pricing, or loyalty program benefits not available to the general public

Payment Methods for Price Matched Orders

Price matched orders may be paid using standard payment methods (credit card, debit card, or bank transfer) at no additional cost.

Buy Now Pay Later services (such as Afterpay, Zip, or similar platforms) are available for price matched orders, subject to a payment processing surcharge that reflects the additional merchant fees associated with these payment platforms.

The BNPL processing surcharge will be calculated as a percentage of the price matched amount and clearly disclosed at the point of sale before payment is processed. The surcharge percentage will not exceed the actual cost of accepting the BNPL payment method and will be reviewed periodically to ensure it remains reasonable and cost-reflective.

Customers may choose to use BNPL services with the applicable surcharge or select standard payment methods without additional fees. The total amount payable, including any surcharges, will be clearly itemised before the customer confirms their purchase.

5. Proof of Competitor’s Price

5.1. Nature of Proof

To be eligible for the policy, you must present proof of the competitor’s lower-priced item through any one of the following means:

  1. A photograph or screenshot of the competitor’s quote or advertised price
  2. Access to the product's live web page if the price was advertised online
  3. A copy or any other official document from the competitor confirming the price and specifications of the lower-priced item

Product Verification and Price Adjustment Process

We reserve the right to verify the lower-priced item's availability, price and specifications at the time of claiming by:

  1. Calling the competitor
  2. Visiting their website
  3. Reviewing publicly available competitor catalogues, advertisements, or promotional materials
  4. If verification cannot be completed within 5 business days using reasonable methods, the price match will be honoured based on customer's original proof
  5. Verification within 5 business days using current live pricing at time of assessment
  6. Proof must be dated within 3 calendar days of claim submission to remain valid
  7. YouHome Automation Pty Ltd T/A Security Cameras Australia bears all verification costs including calls, website access, and third-party services
  8. Competitor pricing changes after claim submission will not invalidate claims if original proof meets dating requirements

6. Honouring the Policy

6.1. Location

The policy will be honoured if, subject to the conditions above, you present proof of the lower-priced item physically in-store or via:

  1. Phone call
  2. Email
  3. Website inquiry

6.2. Timing

The Price Match Policy will be honoured by YouHome Automation Pty Ltd T/A Security Cameras Australia:

  1. At the time of purchase
  2. Within 14 days after purchase, provided that:
    1. the customer provides proof of purchase and proof of the competitor's lower price;
    2. the item remains in resaleable condition and can be returned in accordance with the company's standard return policy;
    3. the competitor's lower price was advertised after the customer's purchase date; and
    4. the customer submits the post-purchase price match request via email or through the designated online form.

    This provision does not limit or affect any rights under Australian Consumer Law, including statutory guarantees relating to acceptable quality, fitness for purpose, or correspondence with description.

  3. Post-purchase price adjustments will be processed as a refund to the original payment method within 7 business days of approval, with the refund amount being the difference between the original purchase price and the competitor's verified lower price

6.3. Exclusions

The Price Match Policy does not apply to:

  1. Pricing errors
  2. Items sold by third-party sellers on competitor websites
  3. Auction site prices
  4. Prices from outside Australia
  5. Competitors' loyalty program prices or member-only deals

7. Further Considerations

Notwithstanding the above restrictions, customers may combine the Price Match Policy with the following YouHome Automation Pty Ltd T/A Security Cameras Australia offers:

  1. standard shipping promotions or delivery fee waivers;
  2. loyalty program points or rewards on separate purchases;
  3. promotional offers or discounts on different items not subject to the price match request; and
  4. manufacturer rebates or warranties that do not affect the purchase price at point of sale.

Price matches cannot be combined with clearance sales, bundle offers, or membership-exclusive pricing on the same item, as these pricing structures already reflect special pricing arrangements that incorporate volume discounts, end-of-line clearance, or membership benefits that are incompatible with competitive price matching.

In the event of policy amendments, customers who submitted a price match request within 14 days prior to the amendment date may elect to have their request processed under the previous policy terms, provided the request was made in good faith and meets all other eligibility criteria.

Material changes to this Price Match Policy will be communicated to customers via email (for registered accounts), website notification, and in-store signage at least 14 days before the amendment takes effect, with the amendment date clearly stated in all notifications.

Where policy amendments materially affect pending price match requests, YouHome Automation Pty Ltd T/A Security Cameras Australia will process all such requests under the policy version in effect at the time of the original request submission, provided the request was submitted in good faith and the customer completes all verification requirements within 7 days of the amendment taking effect.

Non-material administrative updates, including corrections to typographical errors, updates to contact information, clarifications that do not alter substantive rights or obligations, or changes required by law, may be implemented immediately with notice provided to customers within 1 business day via the same communication channels specified above.

The Price Match Policy is subject to a limit of one price match per customer per item per day, and reserves the right to limit quantities or refuse price matches at its discretion.

For purposes of this limit, "customer" means: (a) one unique individual, verified by government-issued identification or account registration; or (b) one registered business account. YouHome Automation Pty Ltd T/A Security Cameras Australia reserves the right to verify customer identity and link multiple accounts or transactions to a single individual to enforce this limit.

Verification will be requested if:

  1. A customer submits more than 1 price match claim per week;
  2. claims are submitted from different contact details with similar purchase patterns; or
  3. YouHome Automation Pty Ltd T/A Security Cameras Australia has reasonable grounds to suspect policy abuse, including but not limited to coordinated submissions from multiple accounts with linked payment methods or delivery addresses.

Where a price match claim is denied, YouHome Automation Pty Ltd T/A Security Cameras Australia will provide written explanation of the denial reason within 5 business days, and customers may appeal the denial within 7 calendar days by submitting additional evidence or documentation to the designated contact address, with all appeals reviewed by a manager within 3 business days and a written decision provided within 3 business days of review completion.
