How much storage does a 6MP kit use?

More than 4MP, less than 4K. As a rough guide with H.265+, four 6MP cameras at ~30-day retention fit on an 8 TB surveillance drive; more cameras or longer retention need more. Tell us the camera count and target days and we'll confirm the size.

Do these kits record without a subscription?

Yes. Footage records to the hard drive in the NVR on your premises — no cloud fee, no monthly subscription, and you own the footage. Free remote viewing via the app; you only need an internet connection at the NVR.

Can I install a 6MP kit myself?

Each camera runs on a single Cat6 cable from the NVR that carries power and data (PoE) — no separate power at the camera. The cable run is the real work. Single-storey homes with accessible roof-space paths are a sensible DIY job; two-storey and commercial sites are usually better done professionally. We can refer a licensed installer.
