The Eaton range — three product families

• 5P — line-interactive with high-frequency design, AVR, and pure sine wave output. The Eaton small-commercial equivalent of APC's Smart-UPS. Sizes 650 VA to 3,000 VA. Suits SMB CCTV / IT installs.
• 9PX — online double-conversion at the upper professional and entry-enterprise tier. Pure sine wave, full mains isolation, hot-swappable batteries, plus Eaton's Energy Saver System (ESS) mode that reaches 99% efficiency when the mains is clean — significant operating-cost saving on always-on installs. Sizes 1 kVA to 11 kVA. The default Eaton choice for server rooms, medical, broadcast, and CCTV installs where switch time is unacceptable.
• 93PM and 9395 — three-phase modular online double-conversion for data centres, telecoms, and large industrial loads. Sizes from 30 kVA to 1.2 MW. Specialist installs; talk to us if your project is at this scale.

When Eaton is the right call

Eaton's Energy Saver System (ESS)

Worth calling out because it's an Eaton differentiator: on 9PX and larger models, ESS mode bypasses the double-conversion when mains quality is acceptable, running the load directly off mains while keeping the inverter on standby for instant switch on degradation. Result: efficiency rises from typical ~92% (always-on double-conversion) to ~99% (ESS engaged). The load still gets full UPS protection because the inverter is ready to switch in milliseconds — but the operating-cost saving on a 24/7 install is meaningful. For an enterprise data centre running multiple Eaton units, ESS pays for the topology premium over a few years.
