Manufacturer Details

Six bullet cameras for a larger block or commercial yard — full perimeter plus the high-risk approaches: rear lane, loading dock, side gate.

Built for

  • Long driveways, rural property boundaries, fence lines — the 40 m IR throw and directional view suit watching an approach, where a doorway-focused camera would waste most of its frame.
  • Car parks, yards, storage compounds — a visible bullet housing is a deterrent in its own right; would-be intruders can see they're on camera before they commit.
  • Small commercial perimeters — loading docks, side access, the back fence where someone would actually climb over.
  • Trade and installer jobs where the brief is obvious, pointed cameras covering specific approaches, rather than discreet dome or turret coverage.

HiLook vs Hikvision Pro — what you're actually getting

HiLook value cameras are made on the same lines as Hikvision Pro Series — same sensors, same compression, same warranty period — but with fewer high-end features. No on-camera AcuSense AI. No ColorVu 24/7 full-colour night. What the bullet gives you over the turret: a longer 40 m infrared throw and a prominent, directional housing that reads as a deterrent. What you get across the board: 6 MP resolution (3× the detail of 1080p), IP67 weatherproofing, built-in microphone, PoE single-cable install, and recording to a hard drive that's already in the box.

What's in the box, and why each piece is there

  • 6 × HiLook IPC-B261H-MU 6MP Bullet cameras — 3200×1800 resolution at 25 fps (3× the detail of 1080p), 40 m infrared night vision (longer throw than the turret range), IP67, f/1.6 aperture, 120 dB WDR, built-in microphone, PoE single-cable power + data, 2.8 mm lens with 107° horizontal field of view, directional bullet housing as a visible deterrent.
  • 1 × HiLook NVR-108MH-C/8P-4TB 8-channel NVR with 4 TB HDD pre-installed — 8 PoE ports built-in, Western Digital Surveillance 4 TB HDD already installed, HDMI + VGA output, H.265+ compression, 80 Mbps total bandwidth. HDD included — no BYO drive needed, ready to record out of the box.
  • 1 × Hikvision DS-UPS1000-AU 1000 VA / 600 W UPS — Line-interactive UPS with Automatic Voltage Regulation. ~90–130 min at the system's ~67 W draw. Surge protection on every outlet.
  • 6 × camera mounting hardware kits + quick-start guide

Why this size and not the next one up/down

6-cam vs 4-cam: two more cameras plus the step to the 8-channel NVR, about $373 all up. 6-cam vs 8-cam: 8-cam adds two more cameras on the same NVR for ~$236. Bullet vs turret at this size: the bullet's 40 m IR and obvious housing suit perimeter and approach monitoring; if you're mostly covering entries and indoor-adjacent areas, the turret kit is the cheaper fit.

Why the +UPS variant and not the standard kit

The 1000 VA UPS adds $109.99 to the system. It's sized to keep the system recording through a typical distribution outage. Worth it if (a) you've actually had power cuts at this site, (b) the property is in a brownout-prone area, or (c) the cost of losing footage during a power event is high (insurance claims, after-hours intrusion on an exposed perimeter).

Bullet vs turret — which form for which job

A bullet camera projects further and announces itself: the long body houses a bigger IR array (40 m here vs 30 m on the turret) and the shape is unmistakably a camera, which deters before it records. A turret is lower-profile, harder to vandalise, and better for doorways and tighter scenes. Choose bullets for driveways, fence lines and yards where you're watching an approach; choose turrets for entries and wall-mounted close coverage. Most larger sites mix both — these kits are the perimeter half of that.
